Survey shows how communication skills are instrumental in improving workforce agility

Speexx, the award-winning provider of online corporate language training, has released a new white paper for the talent management sector. “Championing business agility through better workforce communication” sets the agenda for HR and L&D professionals and shows how communication skills can be instrumental in improving workforce agility.

 

The Speexx white paper explores the key HR factors driving business agility this year, as well as the barriers to improving workforce communication skills. It also highlights how better communication across borders will increase overall organisational productivity and profitability. Based on the annual Speexx Exchange 2013-14 Survey, an audit which captured feedback from 250 global HR managers, L&D professionals, the report includes key talent management findings offers practical guidelines for HR and L&D Managers.

 

According to the white paper, there is increasing recognition of the need for flexible learning solutions:

  • 90 percent of respondents currently provide some form of e-learning
  • 43 percent have it embedded across the entire organisation.

 

 

Furthermore, the study highlights six specific areas where enterprises may also benefit directly from better communication improving business agility:

  • increased collaboration across borders (cited by 43 percent);
  • quicker time to decision (41 percent);
  • enhanced competitive advantage (39 percent);
  • improved customer service quality (38 percent);
  • reduced internal conflict (33 percent) and
  • cost savings (23 percent).

 

The context analyzed by the work manifests:

  • In 2014, workforces are increasingly multinational.
  • Enterprises powered by globally accessible, cloud-based systems, now work across borders and time zones.
  • Employees in different countries, who in the past would never have communicated with each other, now collaborate daily.
  • Organisations that have tapped into this new technology-enabled business agility are succeeding where others are falling by the wayside.
  • Profits are up and the HR department plays a key role in delivering the communication skills its employees need.
